Welcome to the naive art of Caroline Appleyard, a contemporary artist based in the picturesque village of Burnmouth, Scotland. Inspired by her breathtaking seaside surroundings, Caroline captures the beauty of ocean creatures, boats, and charming coastal towns through her distinctive painting style.
With a passion for art , and no formal training, she began painting full-time in 2006. She has exhibited her work across the UK in both solo and group exhibitions, and her pieces are in collections worldwide. Caroline is one of the few underwater artists in the world creating artwork while scuba diving, including on the historic wrecks HMS Royal Oak and HMS Vanguard .
She swims in the sea most days, and also snorkels, kayaks and dives , and her passion for the ocean shows in her work.
